The Dio Years

Rhino Records

The Dio years ran from 1979 to 1982, short but ever lasting for those that love Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio. Rhino Records has put out a new CD entitled Black Sabbath The Dio Years. Joined once again Terry Geezer Butler, Toni Iommi, and Ronnie James Dio. The trio now joined by Vinny Appice on drums, who recorded a new CD which has been released on April 3rd, 2007.

The CD contains sixteen tracks with three new songs called “The Devil Cried”, “Shadow of the Wind” and “Ear in the Wall.” All with that classic Sabbath sound and Ronnie’s operatic vocals that I remember so well. The days of doom and gloom have returned once again over turning peace and love.

You can also find classic tracks from the original Heaven and Hell disc like “Neon Nights”,” Lady Evil”, and “Heaven and Hell.” You can hear a live version of “Children of the Sea.” too. Other Tracks from Dehumanizer can be found as well like, “TV Crimes” and “I” which was during a brief reunion with Sabbath and Dio in 1992.

I have to say, this is one of my favorite CD’s to come out in a very long time, and I really enjoy it from beginning to end. It’s a great compilation of music old and new. I would suggest to everyone to buy this extraordinary compilation. It’s well worth every cent for fans young and old and remember
