I reviewed the eleven track CD entitled “The Devil Knows My Name,” by John 5 and  it has yet to leave my CD player.

John 5, known best as a guitarist for Rob Zombie has made a lasting impression on me as one of the most talented guitarist on the planet. The detailed compositions of his music are electrifying, eerie, with masochistic flare, rock and heavy metal riffs, which are as fast as hell on wheels. Everything you’d expect from John 5. I found one song “Bella Kiss” was more on the lighter side and “Young Thing” showcasing John 5’s bluesy side.

The majority of this CD is John 5’s solo work with a few nightmarish intros, and featured artists, Joe Satriani on “Werewolves of Westeria” Black Widow of La Porte (Feat Jim Root) and “The Washing Away of the Wrong” with Eric Johnson. To my surprise, a rendition of “Welcome to the Jungle” I stumbled upon by Guns and Roses, which was done well but not essential for this CD in my opinion.

Would I buy this CD? Absolutely! Should you buy this CD? Hell Yeah! You can pre-order the CD and check out some of John 5’s music at:
