Welcome To

ROCK NEVER STOPS TOUR

WITH CINDERELLA, RATT, QUIET RIOT, FIREHOUSE

MOHEGAN SUN ARENA

July 21st, 2005

Gee, where do I start? With all the bullshit I went through with the poor management of this tour and false promises? Perhaps the fact that shows like this no longer belong in a 10,000 seat arena at $35.00 a pop?

Well my concert going, long haired 80’s fans. I came to this conclusion. Sometimes the rock needs to stop in order to go out on top rather than having to give away the tickets to everyone and their mother and pulling the stage up forward to shrink the arena. Not to mention Firehouse played to a half empty house as well. I love these bands as much as the next mullet head but I feel each of them would have done better on their  own in perhaps the Wolf Den or small club. Remember this tour normally played the fairs last year which went along with the admission to the park.

After being promised an on camera interview and tickets, I found myself and other press still waiting for our tickets and passes till about 6:50. Mind you, the show started at 6:00 so much for my shoot with Firehouse. Tickets finally arrive, no damn passes. I than said screw it, checked our video equipment and said I’m here to have a good time now. I wish….. It took everything I had to hold my eyes open I was so bored out of my mind.

Quiet Riot, did their traditional show with Mama Weer All Crazee Now which was originally done by Slade along with other favorites, talking about there drinking and drugging in the 80’s “yawn”, excuse me.

Onto Ratt, if I hear “Round Round Get Around” one more time I’ll shoot myself. Ratt without Stephan Percy is like Les Paul without his guitar, “double yawn”

Ah finally, Cinderella. One of my favorite’s from that era. Tom Kiefer looked fabulous and hasn’t seemed to age a bit. Multi talented, being a band all himself in my eyes playing acoustic guitar, Two headed guitar, harmonica, saxophone, piano, not to mention that wonderful rasp to his voice we all come to love. Showing much emotion, dropping to his knees during “I’m Not Your Fool” I got goose bumps. He really made me feel him. That was the high light of this show for me. Set list included, Shake Me, Don’t Know What Ya Got Till It’s Gone, Coming Home, and Heartbreak Station.
